This post is a “filler” to publish photos of some great flowers that I saw at the Botanical Park called Banana Vani-en in Izu Peninsula, Japan, and share them with you. The Botanical Park hosted some wonderful specimens of tropical plants. I was most impressed by lotuses and orchids and had a field day clicking them. Check out the last photo of this post too – I’d like to know the name of the plant and need your assistance. I have a chart identifying most of the lotuses that I have shown here – so ask for the names if you need them. Here are the orchids first:

I felt a great sense of peace and happiness in the botanical park and wished I could have spent some more time! Needless to say, I was the last visitor to pass out of the gates of the park!
Finally, here’s an extraordinary plant with a purple flower that seemed to be growing from the tip of a pink leaf. Can you identify the flower?

Japanese Garden 
WOW! Eye candy! The colors are just unbelievable! That blue orchid especially. I have a VERY vague guess for the last one, um, it’s a type of ginger. 🙂 similar to cone (pinecone?) ginger? Thanks for sharing these great photo, so much fun to look at. I’m going to scroll back up the page for another look!

All the blooms are so beautiful!! The last plant plant is a Tillsandia. I bought one last year and it was doing well. But I think it got a little too much water and died. I’d love to buy another. That pink/purple is simply spectacular!

Thanks for the invite over here – I am drooling over those orchids………… those would be so expensive over here. Can’t grow Lotus here – too cold – love the blue one.
I know the plant in the last photo – I grow it – Tillandsia cyanea – its quite popular UK houseplant. I just wish those violet coloured flowers would last longer.

I have never seen orchids such as you have shown here. Just gorgeous! I was thinking the last picture was a bromeliad, but then a tillandsia and bromeliad are related. Or maybe a tillandsia is a bromeliad. I know that all tillandsias are not created equal. I have some that are not nearly so spectacular as the one in your picture! LOL Great post.
